Well, I made it through the surgery and am 11 days into my recovery. I can't say I'd want to do it again, but I am glad I had it done and won't have any more awful throat infections. My parents came down to help us, and we really needed it! Micah had a great time playing with them and showing off all his new skills. I think Dan has recovered from being up at night with me. We had to say goodbye to Grammy and Pop Pop this morning and that was hard, but we're all glad to have things back to normal, kind of!

Blog Break

I haven't posted any blogs this week since I've been getting ready for my upcoming tonsillectomy on Friday. I'll be out for awhile while I recover, but I promise to have cute pics and videos of Micah to come! He is really enjoying his visit with Grammy and Pop Pop who have come down to help out. Please send prayers and good thoughts that the recovery time will be short.

Walking the dogs

Recently Micah has taken to putting these stuffed dogs on his arms and "walking" them around the house. I don't know how the cat feels about this! He also likes pulling the dining chairs backwards and then trying to push them back up.

Hi out there

Micah's playing with Daddy's belt in this video. You can hear a few of the sounds he makes all the time and of course, he's already learned how to ham it up for the camera!

Closeup

Ok, mom. I'm ready for my closeup!

As you can see from this photo and video, Micah had a little mishap this week. When I went to get him out of his crib two mornings ago, he was sporting this scratch down his cheek. Poor little guy--I guess there was a jagged piece of fingernail or something that got him. Later that day, when I picked him up from daycare, I was informed that another little boy had bitten him three times--twice on the arm and once on the cheek! He was just not having a good day at all! I also posted these shots becaue I thought he looked so sweet in his gingham dress shirt :-) and I love closeups with those puppy dog eyes. Who could say no to that? Here's hoping today is a day with no scratches or bites!

Thomas the Train

Here is a picture and video of Micah wearing his Thomas the Train overalls from Grandma and Grandpa Inouye! You can also get a sense for the Micah "attitude" coming out. Telling him no to something is like egging him on! In his hand, he's got a medicine dispenser. I figured out that if he's got one in his hand, he'll take medicine from the other one. We've had a rainy week and a rainy weekend here, but we did manage to have a nice dinner with friends.

What's this mom?

Micah discovered the magnets on the frig, so we decided to give him a couple that wouldn't pose a choking risk. He was having a great time with them this morning.

Apparently, the lens on the camera looks like a button! You can hear him asking me what it is at the end.

Today Micah's going in for a visit to the doctor. He's been coughing a lot at night and I like to nip those chest colds in the bud, especially during allergy season! It hasn't seemed to dampen his spirits, although he has been asserting his "toddlerness" lately. We've seen tantrums rearing their ugly heads and night waking. Ah, parenthood :-)
