Moose!

Here's one for all those Vermonters...this is also a good shot of Micah's thumb-sucking abilites too.

5 months!

Today Micah is 5 months old! Last night Dan bought pureed peas, green beans and squash. What do you think we should start with? Give his track record, whatever we choose, we'll be putting the biggest bib we have on him! Do they make bib smocks? Because if they do, we need one of those...

Is this good to eat?

As you might have noticed, Micah's in that stage where everything goes in his mouth. Well, except rice cereal, that is! Our attempts at getting him to take it on the spoon or in the bottle have been thwarted, most likely by his experience with sweet things like Pedialyte and various medication he's had to be on. Instead, we're moving on to a vegetable this week. Maybe later, we'll add some fruit to the cereal. For now, he's turning out to be a picky eater!

I don't want to jinx it but...

Micah has slept all night through the last two nights! No waking at all! Yea!

Belated Easter greeting

Micah had a few things to say about Easter, only I couldn't load the video until today! Here is a special greeting from him for the grandparents. We had a great weekend with a delicious ham dinner on Sunday, some spring cleaning and movies.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Easter! Here are a few pics taken after church today.

Overalls and Bath time!

Micah would like to thank Pop Pop for fixing his overalls so he can wear them. Here he is trying to roll over in them. For all those keeping track--he finally rolled over by himself twice this morning...but I think he's forgotten how now :-) He also sat up without assistance for almost a minute this week. This second photo is of Daddy getting him ready for bath time. Yea!

Beethoven, eat your heart out

Here is a sweet picture of Grandma Lynn with Micah. Below is Micah practicing his scales. A budding pianist? You be the judge.

Here are a couple more family photos--Rog and Micah, all smiles; and Josh with his girlfriend Amanda and niece Lynne. The video below is from today--Micah's response to my Popeye impression :-)

Micah and Alaina

Our little aviator

We had a great trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Although almost thwarted by a snowstorm on Friday night, we managed to make it to the airport Saturday morning and find some flights going out. The highlights of our week included spending Sunday with the whole family at home, visiting Mark, Katie, Lynne, and Alaina in Hudson on Wednesday and going to a show at the Guthrie while Grandma watched Micah! Micah did so well during all of the traval and we are pleased to report that despite our concerns, his ears did not bother him at all while in the air. Somebody give that child some wings! I'll be posting lots of fun pictures from our trip over the next few days, but for now, here are a few ones of Micah and Alaina--there's no resemblance or anything :-)

Packing our bags

Well, we're off to Wisconsin! Depsite an incoming snowstorm, we're driving up to Nashville tonight to catch our flight for tomorrow morning. Hopefully by leaving early, we'll miss the worst of it and things will have melted by then. Ah, the Holiday Inn. Micah's first away from home experience (other than the hospital stay). Anyway, the blog will be on hiatus until our return in a week. I leave you with this parting shot.

Parrot friend

Micah was making all kinds of sounds in the jumperoo this afternoon so I thought I'd capture some on video. He loves the red parrot that hangs from it :-) I think he's pretty much recovered from his bout with the immunizations!

Chilly!

It's been a little chilly outside lately so we put Micah's hat on before going to daycare. He looks like a happy camper in this picture! He's been having trouble with his formula lately and we're still trying to work out the kinks, but he's still smiling as you can see.

The Doc's Report--4 months!

Micah is 4 months old now! Dan took him in for his shots--here are the stats you've all been waiting for: 16 pounds, 11 ounces and 26.5 inches long. The doc has switched Micah to a lactose-free formula which he seems to think will help alleviate the spitting up and gas he's been experiencing recently and possibly, his ezcema (I hope!). He said that when Micah gets a little older, he will do allergy tests to see if there is anything there. He told us that if the new formula is working well we will know very soon. He also gave us something for our upcoming flight to Minneapolis to help his ears and a few tips for what and when to feed him. Wish us luck!

Sitting up

Micah is learning to sit up with some help, of course. Here he is doing his thing on the couch! We've learned a little something about his napping habits. He never likes taking a nap, but he'll do it, only he wants to do it on his own terms. In other words, the best way to get him down is to pretend like you're trying to for awhile until he gets mad, then leave him in the bouncy chair awake and walk away--this usually works! If all else fails break out the big guns--a car ride.
