sleepy Micah

Here is a photo an video of Micah just being woken up from his noon nap to get ready for daycare. He gave daddy a run for his money so to speak, this morning, but finally snoozed for about an hour at lunch.

Of Catnaps and Cars

Our night of rest turned out to be the exception and not the rule! Micah repeated his habit of waking every hour last night. But, he did sleep for 2.5 hours in the vibrating chair this morning, giving Dan a much needed nap before work. In other news, the white car has died and is currently in the shop. We're hoping it's just a part that needs replacing and not something larger, like a transmission!

Yes, we actually got some sleep last night! Micah slept in the crib from 8 to 3 a.m. without waking. Here is a picture of him taking a snooze this afternoon before going to daycare. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of many full nights of sleep to come.

Micah's a week shy of 4 months, but decided to give him a little cereal on a spoon, just to see what he'd do with it. It's pretty funny :-)

Look Alike?

Recognize those cheeks? Dan's baby picture is the first one and of course the second one is of Micah at about 2 months old. I think Dan is probably younger than that in this picture (he was a preemie, so I don't know) but you can definately see the resemblance. I bet if it were a little clearer, we could see even more similarities. I still think there's a little element of something else in there from mommy's side...I guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes as he gets older! Micah also likes to sleep with his arms above his head too, when they're not swaddled, that is.

Wiley and the Hairy Man

Here are a couple of pictures I took of Dan's show being performed at East Corinth Elementary Schools. They have been touring the show all week and it will open at the theatre this weekend. In the first pic you can see Mammy and Wiley and the second pic is the Hairy Man and the other cast members pretending to be part of the swamp where he lives. All the parts are played by children.

I love this video because you can hear Micah giggling on it. He loves it when Dan plays with his lips!

Here are a few more shots. The second one Micah is in a caterpillar outfit from the book "The Hungry Caterpillar". It's a hand-me-down from cousins Lynne and Alaina! He also has the book and a stuffed caterpillar to go with it from Uncle Randy. As you can see, he is filling out quite a bit! Must be all that midnight munching.

All ready

We're back after a hiatus--I had the flu. Thankfully, Dan and Micah did not get it too. Here is a cute video of Micah all ready to go to daycare this morning. He is just starting to find his feet, and you can see him reaching for them at the end of this video. We've been sneaking a little rice cereal in his evening bottle in the hopes that it will help him sleep longer. So far, we've not had luck with it, but he does eat less at the midnight feeding. I think we may try to spoon feed him a little this weekend. As evidenced by the prodigious amounts of drool he's producing whenever we eat, I think he's getting ready for solids!

All Smiles

Here's a picture and a video of Micah in a good mood at lunch today. Mom and dad are not in such a good mood since he was up 5 times last night, but it doesn't seem to phase him!

I'm a Big Boy Now

Micah's growing up fast and doing new things everyday, it seems like. Exhibit A is him trying on Daddy's shoes for size. Exhibit B is just a picture of us together for those who have been requesting one. And Exhibit C is him "holding" his bottle. We're still working on the balance part, but he's getting the hang of it.

Mid South storms

A very large storm system moved through the Mid South last night and caused destruction in Memphis and other parts of Tennessee. Corinth made it through pretty much unscathed, but there were tornadoes that touched down in Ramer and Theo, towns close to us. Here is a link to a map of these towns. I did not enjoy hunkering down in our spider-infested basement with the baby for a half-hour, but I'm grateful that the weather passed us by. Our hearts go out to the friends and family members of the 40+ people killed last night in the storms.

Here are a few more photos of his royal cuteness taken this weekend. The first is Micah in the sling that our friends Ali and Brian got us as a gift! As you can see, he's still not quite sure how he feels about being lugged around like a kangaroo joey, but he's getting the hang of it--no pun intended. The second is him in his "rainforest jumperoo" activity center. He's still a bit small for it since his feet don't touch the floor yet. But he really enjoys trying to touch the little animals in the front that make it play music and lights. I thought he looked very studious in this pic. The third is a quintessential Micah "I've had enough!" moment displaying his pouty lower lip. I have it on confidence from my mother in law that Dan did the same thing at that age (and I can tell you he still does it on occasion!) Dan's new play

3 Months!

Micah is 3 months today! Can't believe it. Here is a picture from a couple weeks ago. He already looks different. I'm back at work today but Micah won't be going to day care until sometime next week. Hopefully we can make it through this cold and flu season without another serious episode!
