What's this mom?

Micah discovered the magnets on the frig, so we decided to give him a couple that wouldn't pose a choking risk. He was having a great time with them this morning.

Apparently, the lens on the camera looks like a button! You can hear him asking me what it is at the end.

Today Micah's going in for a visit to the doctor. He's been coughing a lot at night and I like to nip those chest colds in the bud, especially during allergy season! It hasn't seemed to dampen his spirits, although he has been asserting his "toddlerness" lately. We've seen tantrums rearing their ugly heads and night waking. Ah, parenthood :-)

Mmmmm!

This is a cute video of Micah talking to his dinner :-) Things have been a bit busy around here, hence the lack of posts. We're in the process of house hunting, Dan just finished the spring musical (he did costumes) and is starting the final week of class, and I just wrapped up an all-nighter Relay for Life event! We're about peetered out and it's only Tuesday!

Attention: This is a Paci-Free Zone

Well we've managed to make our house a paci-free zone! We decided to try just removing it cold-turkey and see if Micah missed it terribly. So Saturday night, we put him down without it. So far so good. He had a little trouble with naps, but a few minutes of rocking seemed to do the trick. Success! Hopefully now that he's back in his routine this week, he'll forget about it entirely. In other news, Micah's not really interested in baby food anymore. Whether it was this latest round of antibiotics or just the fact that he's getting oder, I don't know. But, now that he's discovered there's a whole new world of delicious foods that aren't pureed, he wants those, and heated up, please. I have decided to get him his first lunchbag to take to daycare with a "real" lunch in it. Today's menu: grapes (peeled and halved, of course!), cheese cubes, half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a cup of vegetable beef soup. Mmmm!

In other news, we have started house-hunting in the Arkadelphia area! Wish us luck!

Yippee-Kai-A, Cowpattie!

Micah enjoys a ride on Dad's back now and then! He is recovering from his bout with ear infections and a sore throat. This weekend we had quite the scare when he woke up in the middle of the night with a fever of 105! We sponged him down in the tub and gave him some Tylenol and that seemed to work well. Later that night the fever broke and hasn't returned--yea! I guess those antibiotics kicked in. We were able to make it to church on Easter and even took a trip to Texarkana to visit with friends later on that day.

No Tornadoes Here, Just Tonsilitis

For those of you who watch the news--no, those tornadoes that hit Arkansas were not in our town. We had some wind last night, but nothing funnel-y.

Micah is currently battling a nasty double ear infection and tonsilitis so please pray for him and send some good thoughts his way. He's not eating solid food right now, but he's drinking like it's going out of style. He's on antibiotics so hopefully that will clear things up very soon. Hopefully, those Pedialyte frozen popsicles will help a little too :-)

Keep on Truckin'

Micah examines the truck

Here are a couple of videos of Micah playing with his truck. He's starting to enjoy his riding toys a lot more now that his legs are long enough to reach the floor! He can work all the "whistles and bells" on it now, too. He really has a fascination with trucks and cars. Yesterday we were playing outside and he didn't want to run around the yard, just play with two sticks and the wheel of the car. He kept putting the sticks up to the bolts on the wheel and twisting them around like he was changing the tire. Then he wanted to do that on his play truck inside. He seems to be a bit under the weather at the moment--didn't eat breakfast this morning--so I hope he's not coming down with something!

A special "shout-out" to Grammy, who is having a birthday today! And a special Happy Birthday to Daddy, who's big day was last weekend! Love you both!

The last of the DE pics

Here we are at my cousin Angela's house. You can see her little girl, Adella in the background.
Daddy and Micah having fun at the library. (They were so smart to put keyboards over in the children's section!)

Micah and his cousins Aubrey, Adella and Macy! Buddy, I think you're outnumbered.

I left Micah overnight for the first time this weekend--I attended a 4-day work conference in Oklahoma City and just got back yesterday. Daddy and Micah had to "bach" it. I guess everything went fine, but I think all of us are glad that things are back to status quo!

more fun in Delaware

Is the world supposed to be moving?
Us and our friends John and Becky and their baby, Sara.

In this video, Micah was playing with a couple of golf balls (Pop Pop would be proud). You can hear him say "thank you" when Grammy hands one back to him that he dropped. He had a great time at the playground while we visited--his first visit to one with equipment for his age group. He liked the slide but was not too sure about the swing, as exhibited by this photo above! We loved seeing John and Becky again and of course, new baby Sara. Micah was taking in all in stride until he caught a glimpse of me holding the baby and decided he wasn't ready to share just yet :-) I tried to explain that my lap was big enough for 2, but he was having no parts of that.
